We stayed at Mara River Safari Lodge in the middle of our 17night stay in
Bali...what a fantastic experience. I stayed here with hubby and three boys aged 1 1/2, 5 1/2 & 7 1/2 and initially booked it as we thought the kids would love it..but we did too! We had a two bedroom "Kifaru' townhouse. It was just beautiful..and enormous. There was a main bedroom and another with two single beds and these were separated by a living area, it had two huge bathrooms as well. Very spacious and lovely decor..African style!! We requested a cot which we were given but it was quite small, our little one is big so he just fit. There was a balcony and it overlooked Zebras and Rhinos..just awesome! You were also given a basket of carrots to feed them. We ate dinner & breakfast with the lions right beside us..awesome! As for the Safari park itself..we loved it!! Very interactive compared to animal parks in Australia and the safari ride around the park was great..getting to see all of the animals up so close. That night before dinner we did a night safari (we paid extra for)which was very quick - 15 mins in all but well worth it as we fed zebras and lions. We arrived early afternoon, checked in, went around the park with friends that weren't staying there but it wasn't enough time for us to see the whole of the park like the different exhibits and shows, animal feeding, kids waterpark & funzone. I would stay two nights to experience everything!! All in all a fantastic stay. If your going to Bali you have to stay here..don't just visit the park. Kerryn Moore- O'Connor |
